Ms. Jennifer Pike Yavapai County Teacher of the Year and Yavapai County Teacher of the Year for Cross Grades Category

YAVAPAI COUNTY TEACHER OF THE YEAR PHILOSOPHY AND PURPOSE

Teacher of the Year review committees have the overwhelming task of delineating between many truly outstanding educators. The application and interview process attempts to take a comprehensive look at applicants through the use of detailed rubrics based on characteristics of exemplary educators. This is meant to be a process that promotes four major outcomes. Firstly, it is our intention to select teachers that are representative of the finest teachers in Yavapai County and Arizona. Secondly, the application process provides an opportunity for educators to reflect on their practice and in doing so, promote continued growth in each nominee. Thirdly, the Teacher of the Year program provides outstanding recognition for the chosen teachers and for their respective schools. Fourthly, the Teacher of the Year program serves to inspire others through those who are masters of the teaching profession.

Mrs. Christine Dean, Yavapai County Outstanding Cross-Category Teacher of the Year

Ms. Carrie Vickerman – 1st Runner Up, Yavapai County Teacher of the Year, Grades 4-8 Category

2003

Mr. Paul Helmken – Yavapai County Teacher of the Year – Grades 4-8

Mr. Dan Pemble – Yavapai County Teacher of the Year – Cross Grades

Ms. Catie Schnitzius – Yavapai County Runner-Up First Year Teacher of the Year
