ASSIST

After School Successful Intensive Student Tutoring

You know your child better than anyone.
And you know that sometimes schoolwork and homework are a struggle. That’s why Prescott Unified School District created ASSIST — to give your child the strategies needed for success in school and beyond.

ASSIST is a K-8 structured tutoring program with a 3:1 student-to-teacher ratio. Unlike
a homework club, ASSIST gets to the heart of your child’s learning and organizational issues quickly and effectively, before he or she becomes overwhelmed and another year slips away. And, unlike private tutoring services, ASSIST works seamlessly with your child’s teachers to create a customized tutoring program that addresses strengths and needs observed in the classroom.

ASSIST Fees are eligible for the Arizona School Tax Credit!

  • Does your child perform poorly on assignments, tests and projects?
  • Does he complain of not understanding certain subjects or assignments?
  • No matter how hard your child studies, does she still struggle to get good grades?
  •

Help is here!

Guaranteed Passing

Each student signs a contract agreeing to complete all tutoring tasks. If the student meets these and does not pass, the fee will be refunded. (Tax credits cannot be returned, but can be moved to a different fee area or donation.) You will receive regular progress reports from your child’s tutor, so you know your child is on track for success in each subject.

Fees

ASSIST can be used on a short or long-term basis, depending on your child’s unique needs — be it course failure, grade recovery and skill recovery. Your fee can be used as a tax credit, and scholarships are available based on free and reduced lunch data.

Weekly (per quarter):
1X per week = $180 per quarter
2X per week = $335 per quarter
3X per week = $500 per quarter

Small Groups

ASSIST teachers work with just three students at a time on remedial instruction in specific academic subjects. They also guide students in organizational and time management skills and test preparation. As seasoned educators, our instructors know how to nurture unique strengths to encourage individual growth and personal responsibility. Ultimately, your child can learn more, perform more efficiently, get better grades and build academic confidence and motivation.
