Mandatory Tutoring

To provide access to academic success, Prescott High School is now implementing a school-wide Mandatory Tutoring policy for all students who are earning failing grades in any class. Mandatory Tutoring will be assigned by your child’s teacher and will require attendance at scheduled times after school until your child is earning a passing grade.

Your child will be notified by their teacher of the date, time and specific tutoring objectives such as missed assignments, incomplete homework, make-up tests and/or assistance with improving their understanding of the class material.

Attendance at assigned Mandatory Tutoring for failing students is not optional. Students that do not attend Mandatory Tutoring, as assigned, will be referred to PHS Administration for detention in addition to Mandatory Tutoring.

The objective of Mandatory Tutoring is to provide individualized, structured instructional time to improve your child’s performance in areas of difficulty and to develop responsible student skills that will contribute to academic achievement.  Your support will be essential to your child’s success as we work together toward this goal.

Please use PowerSchool to access your child’s current grades by internet or contact your child’s teachers if you have any questions or concerns regarding Mandatory Tutoring. More information and links can be found on the Prescott High School website at prescottschool.com
