The mission of the Prescott High School Library is to educate and empower students to become self-directed, continuous learners and ethical, responsible citizens prepared to meet the increasing challenges of a global society.
The Prescott High School Library serves the educational needs of 1,800 ninth through twelfth grade students in Prescott, Arizona. Prescott has a population of more than 40,000 and is located about 100 miles northeast of Phoenix, Arizona in Yavapai County.
The first territorial government in Arizona was established approximately 20 miles north of present day Prescott in 1863 and moved to the site of Prescott in 1864. At that time, Prescott was in the center of a beehive of gold mining activity, one of the most productive areas of the Southwest.
You can learn more about Prescott history by visiting the community history page of the Prescott Chamber of Commerce Web site.
