Library at Home
Prescott High School students with access to the Internet at home have the opportunity to use the PHS library electronic card catalog after the library closes at 4:00 P.M. Students wishing to search through the contents of the library collection may direct their computer browser to
http://www.yln.info/. A student’s library barcode number is the student’s school ID number. The PIN is selected by each student and recorded by a staff member on his/her library profile. If a student does not have a PIN, they may come to the library to request one. The barcode number and PIN will allow students to place a hold on books at any 40 YLN libraries in Yavapai County; including Yavapai College Library and, Embry Riddle Aeronautical Library, and Prescott Public Library. A requested book will automatically be sent to the PHS library and the library staff will notify a student when a book from another library has arrived by sending an email notification or a hold slip to the student’s classroom. Please be sure to contact the library staff if you have difficulty getting through to this web site.
Library Resources
A variety of print and non-print material is available for student and faculty use. The PHS Library print collection contains 34,000 titles; which are divided into Reference, Non-fiction, Fiction, Paperbacks, Careers and Special Collections section.
Users of the PHS Library also have the ability to place electronic holds on any of the 1,000,000 titles contained within the database of the Yavapai Library Network. Several non-print resources are also available for use by students and faculty.
These resources include:
EbscoHost – a database of 550 full text magazines available through the Internet.
Internet – students may use the Library Internet connections if they and their parents have signed the P.U.S.D. Acceptable Use Policy contract. Contracts are available in the Library office.
